I first fell in love with Austrian designer, Florentina Leitner, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, when I saw the Soleil skirt, Conny balaclava and Dorine sequin dress. Like a magpie, I was drawn to the silver shimmer of the sequin fabric, transfixed by the way that each sequin caught the light, reflecting a pearly shine.
Her brand’s debut came after years of learning the fashion ropes with the likes of Dries Van Noten. In 2020, her self-titled brand was launched bringing a touch of playfulness, old-world glamour and fairytale to the fashion scene.
The garments featured in the store are real investment pieces given the skill and technique required to create them. Plus the limited fabric run means that only one or two versions of a design exist.
