Revive London - Lupe Castro - MsCastroRIdes

Revive was founded by  Teresa Carmona, who designs beautiful upcycled collections featuring her unique embroidery inspired by her Chilean roots. She also offers a service reviving pieces sent in by her clients.

Teresa started Revive because she wanted to bring both her fashion and sustainable studies together. Always in love with fashion, she was really disheartened by the dark underbelly of the industry. So when it came to starting her own brand she wanted to create one which was truly sustainable, thus Revive was created. In fact Teresa doesnt technically make anything new, but rather uses embroidery to bring pre-loved and vintage garments back to life! Making existing clothes feel new again, without the impact of shopping new is another alternative fashion model to consider.

And although embroidery is definitely the primary medium Teresa uses to rescue clothes, she is not against experimenting, and has used paint, dyes, and other techniques to revive. Recently having grown Revive’s team she is looking forward to incorporating these other artists techniques into her pieces too.

When choosing a piece for Teresa to revive the possibilities are endless! It’s all about choosing a piece that needs to feel a little fresher, and perhaps you don’t wear it as much as you did. Or its that special much loved piece that needs a loving mend, or perhaps like me a vintage piece that has not been looked after so carefully. Revival will make that piece feel new again! Re-kindling your relationship with that garment. When it comes to timing its worth bearing in mind the size of the piece and what is being done, sometimes a little embroidery can take Teresa an hour, but also pieces can take a month to make.

Teresa recently joined forces with Tabby of label Reconsidered at KRAFT Dalston ( home to German Kraft Beer, Jim and Tonic Distillery and Seoul in a Bottle ) in a pop up where they ran 2 workshops where sourced unique vintage towels from second hand stores and markets were turned them into cute boxy shirts, with hand embroidery details bringing a touch of one-off magic to each piece.
