The 'new vintage' at Moda Malola's shop window - MsLupeCastro - Lupe Castro
I spoke about it last September and, I did say , I would bring new pieces that I have for sale online to the window display at Moda Malola, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Whether you are on this wonderful island, or if you want to see what the piece looks like in a real space, I invite you to visit the Fashion Space profile on Instagram where I tell you more about this dress and also the vision of the stylist Daniel Albericio.
This Safari style dress, from the 70's-80's Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, in terms of design, is set to come back as a trend for the next summer season of 2024. I love that this particular model features hidden pockets on the sides of the skirt. Pockets on military dress were particular for the boys and Yves Saint Laurent was maybe one of the first to introduce them for women.
As you can see, we've accessorised the look with matching shoes and belt to enhance this #YSL Rive Gauche.
For the shop window, we used a piece of secon hand muslin that we will use at the end of the project to create a new sustainable piece. In addition, we have reused the gold and silver elements from the first window display.
When choosing the pieces that I am putting on sale from my YSL Rive Gauche collection, I keep in mind that they should not only be a perfectly on trend piece for you the buyers to invest in but , in addition, I try to make vintage also understandable as a way to contribute to the circular economy, since the durability of a collection piece moves it away from the current concepts of 'fast fashion' and, therefore, makes it possible for the fashion industry to also be more sustainable.
If you like fashion, Yves Saint Laurent and you are a conscious and committed fashionista, this piece is for you.
